The GUSD Board of Trustees honored long-term parent volunteers at their regular meeting on April 6, 2016. Schools keep track of parents who give time to the school throughout each of the years their children attend. Each year school principals gather and prepare statements summarizing the valuable contributions of parents whose youngest children are preparing to leave the school in transition to intermediate schools in the Santa Barbara Union School District. GUSD Board members read the comments aloud and volunteers are presented with a certificate of appreciation and a copy of the remarks presented by the school principal and the district Superintendent.
Parent and community partnerships with our schools enrich the education of every student in our schools. The Goleta Union School District is grateful for the support and passion of our families and community.
