Thanksgiving Feast = 3000 Meals

On November 15, the GUSD Food Services staff and more than 60 parent and District Office volunteers served over 3000 early Thanksgiving meals to students and adults. To create this year’s menu Food Service staff, under the leadership of Director Sharon Baird, prepared:

  • 880 pounds of Roasted Turkeys
  • 40 gallons of healthy and delicious Gravy
  • 750 pounds of real mashed potatoes (Yukon Gold Potatoes)
  • 144 pound of whole cranberry sauce
  • 285 pounds of mixed green salad
  • 3072 whole grain dinner rolls
  • Sweet potato pie bars made from 477pounds of sweet potatoes
